LGBT With Breast Cancer

Hello Friends!

As we all may know that this month is Breast Cancer Awareness Month! We’re all thriving throughout the month of October with our very own fifty different fabulous shades of pinks. We also may agree that we all have a loved one that has fought the great battle of cancer or are currently battling. Breast cancer is more likely to occur in women however; has its way of occurring in men as well. There’s a less than 1% chance that breast cancer develops in men. However, the life span of males with breast cancer are shorter than it is with women. Men that have developed breast cancer are more than likely to live up to 5-6 years, whereas females may live up to 15 years. With all this being said the LBGTQ community, are one the biggest supporters when it comes to supporting the research of curing breast cancer and also the emotional concerns that come along with the journey. Identifying as lesbian, bisexual, gay, transgender or queer, you may find it troubling communicating with healthcare associations, finding healthcare programs and also dealing with the emotions of your diagnosis.
