Athlete Turned Actor Comes Out as HIV-Positive

DeMarco Majors has played professional basketball in Argentina, Australia and Brazil—and at home with the American Basketball Association. He became the first professional men’s basketball player to come out while still playing. DeMarco later joined the San Francisco Rock Dogs. He was introduced to national television audiences through MTV/Logo’s groundbreaking reality television series Shirts & Skins .

He also has walked the runway in New York Fashion Week, appeared on Law & Order, been quoted in EBONY … and was featured as the male lead in Beyoncé‘s “Freakum Dress” video.

DeMarco has also contributed to the critically-acclaimed anthology For Colored Boys Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Is Still Not Enough.
